As of today 2 April 2025 motorists will enjoy little bit of relief in their pockets because of their value of their money in fuel will get them further. Minister of minerals and petroleum resources Gwede Mantashe was the one who made announcement. 

The boost of the Rand compared to the Dollar had major influence to the relief as it decreased from R18.50 to R18.30 as well as the drop in the international Crude oil and non OPEC countries had huge impact on the decrease of fuel. 

Diesel users will also benefit, with a reduction of 83,8 cents per litre for 0,05% sulphur diesel and 85,8 cents per litre for 0,005% sulphur diesel. The price of petrol 93 will drop by 58 cents per litre, while petrol 95 will decrease by 72 cents per litre. the price of illuminating paraffin will decrease by 81,7 cents per litre, while LPGas will drop by 79 cents per kilogram.
