EPWP workers haven't received their salaries for last 3 months yet people have been fraudulently using dead people details to pay them as if they are still working. Progressive Civil congress (PCC) discovered a shocking corruption at City of Tshwane.
PCC findings were driven by the ongoing concern that were put forward by EPWP program that was formed by the government as form of job creation. Apparently ghosts have been payed what is due to the real workers on the ground.
Jack Simelane the chairman of PCC says the corruption has been going on since the time of Kgosientsho Ramokgopa when he was still a mayor. He further said they are going to open a case to the public protector condemning the exploitation of people.
Workers says they had a black Christmas as they didn't have means to buy food nor new clothes for their children yet they still expected to show up and do the job.
