Individual police investigative directorate has been investigate the Phala Phala saga which is the money that was stolen on Cyril Ramaphosa farm in 2020 and only got to the public eye on 2022 june. Senzo Mcunu agreed that the investigation has been done and ultimately completed in 2023 October yet the results of it cannot be desclosed 2 years later.
African transformation Movement leader asked why the results of the investigation cannot be brought forward for public consumption and why it has been delayed to inform the public that the investigation has been complicated. Mcunu said IPID is independent institution therefore it was impermissible for the report to be out there as it was reported as "Top secret" on other hand he doesn't want to interfere on its oporations.
People on socials says Well, that's as good as saying that Uncle Cyril is guilty of committing a crime, but no sanction will be implemented, because he's the boss, and clearly above the law.The case attracted the general public's interest. We are eager to know what happened. Why should there be no transparency? Does this confirm that we are not, in reality, equal before the law?
