African National congress find it the hard way to persuade other parties including their partners in GNU to support them to pass the budget speech that was tabled on the 12 March 2025 by finance minister Enoch Godongwana. Time is not on their side as the deadline is on the 2 April 2025 and be implemented on the 1 May 2025.

Major conserns of lot of parties is 0.5% VAT increase that lead to parties not agree with be budget. Apparently ANC has been reaching out to difference polotical parties last week with no luck. MKP though their spokesperson Nhlamolo Ndlela said“We made it very clear that we will not entertain a VAT increase and that they must rather put forward other formal proposals which we would then consider.”

Dlameni Marshall says they would only consider going to be in to negotiations with ANC only if DA and FfPlus wouldn't be amongst the partners he spoke in regard to GNU being dissolved which might lead to if by due date they can't have sufficient votes to pass the budget.
