UMkhonto weSizwe (MKP) and African Transformation Movement formed unity after their leadership had meeting engaging ultimately reached agreement to form a union which with they will work concurrently ahead of the upcoming 2026 local government elections. Two parties are looking forward to working together and contest even the national election 2029. 

On the 5 March 2025 Jacob Zuma and Vuyo Zungula agreed on the value, objectives and principles. Both parties says the struggle of total emancipation of the colonised and the oppressed of the people of South Africa is incomplete needs unified response. Newly forces encourage other political parties and individuals that resonates with them to join them. 

It is not clear at the moment on how they are going to share responsibilities in the near future and if they're going to contest separately and combine their votes by the time of votes
