Royal AM has been shown the door by PLS leadership using the vote method. Apparently the club owner Shauwn Mkhize owed South African Revenue Service over 40Million and she didn't have the means to pay. SARS was obliged to sell the club and the auction was made Black coffee was amongst the bidders ultimately rich business man from KwaZulu-Natal Roy Modley won yet he couldn't raise sufficient capital within agreed time frame.
The matter resorted to the PSL leadership whom opted for removal of the club as it couldn't participate anymore. During the selling and buying of the players window Royal AM was banned to because of the players who didn't get their salaries for a while.
The decision that was taken by the board was to remove the club from the Betway premiership therefore it will only be 15 teams intead of 16 as per usual. The points that were accumulated by the teams that played with Royal AM prior will be deducted and the 15th club on the Betway table will be subjected to playoffs/ relegation.
